Merry Christmas (and Happy Chanukah) to all; and especially Happy New Year to the Party and its supporters. This year we got over 55,000 votes for our State Auditor candidate -- over 55,000 people who want change enough to vote for it at least once. There is something kind of funny about the fact that the party can usually expect a larger vote for non-policy setting offices than for ones where change will be really felt. People want to express their support of our party, but not very much. Well, it is a start, and now it is our job to convince them to invest just a little bit more. And the chance for that is right now!
If you want to support the Libertarian Party just a little, please check our party on your 2008 Utah income tax. It is easy and painless, and it does not require a big commitment. It does not decrease your refund or increase your tax. Obviously, the Republicans do not need your money; and you will not feel any satisfaction by checking the Democratic Party. They will still lose, and they will not bring about real change. The value in checking Libertarian is that you know we will use the money to be heard, and to advocate for real change. We are small, but we are growing. And, if 55,000 people each donate $2.00 through their tax check off, that will be an IMMENSE boost to our little group. Think about that for a minute, and then act.
If you feel you can invest just a little more of yourself, please ask your friends to do the same. If each person who reads this can get five friends to check us on their tax forms, it will be a big improvement. Of course, we would like everyone to consider joining the Party and paying dues. But we realize that is more than many wish to do. So, please do just a LITTLE to help us have a HAPPY NEW YEAR, and make yourself feel better too.
